Vote Cobi Clark! For House of Representatives Position 1

I’m running to bring a higher standard of policymaking to Washington, one grounded not in political expediency or populist rhetoric, but in truth, accountability, and real-world results. Drawing on my experience in business, housing development, and legislative work, I understand that good policy requires more than theory or ideology alone. It demands the ability to bridge the gap between what works in practice and what can be clearly communicated in law. Too often, government fails because it relies either on abstract thinking disconnected from reality, or on gut instincts that cannot be effectively articulated or defended. My approach is different: I am committed to integrating practical, on-the-ground knowledge with rigorous analysis to craft policies that are not simply well-intentioned, but effective, efficient, ethical, and equitable.

At the heart of my campaign is a belief that government must be more disciplined in how it uses its power. Policy should not be about “who gets what,” but about carefully determining which problems are appropriate for government to solve and how to solve such problems without creating greater harm. If elected I expect to address housing affordability, to defend constitutional rights, and to foster economic growth. I bring solutions that respect individual liberty, minimize unintended consequences, and promote long-term prosperity. I’m running not just to implement good policy, but to help redefine what it means to be a responsible policymaker: someone who values truth over rhetoric, efficacy over optics, and service over politics.

About Me

I was raised in the City of Covington (since before it was Covington) here in District 47. I met my wife while we were in middle school, she grew up just a few blocks from me off of Wax Road. After growing up and watching the city grow up along side us, I started my first business just out of high school which ultimately let to a career in real estate development. Throughout my career I delivered hundreds of homes to Washington State but each year it became harder and harder to deliver more housing. After securing my career, my Wife and I settled down to start a family in Auburn. My son learned to walk in Isaac Evans Park and learned to swim at the local pool. We continue to enjoy the districts many amenities, and hope to continue to raise our family here, we welcomed another boy just this last November.

In addition to my local roots and my professional background I also hold an interdisciplinary multi-major in Economics, Policy Analysis, Politics, and Philosophy. In the course of my studies I worked as policy staff for Senator Jeff Wilson, and worked for the Tacoma-Pierce Chamber of Commerce as a Business Advocate. More information about my professional career may be found on LinkedIn by pressing the button below.

My Campaign

The most pressing issues for the State of Washington that I see right now are creating more housing, protecting constitutional rights, and fostering economic growth. If the state wants to get serious about the housing crisis we need to take a more structural approach to zoning reform, rather than the endless stream of onesie-twosie regulatory tweaks coming out of Olympia. Moreover, this state not only persistently flouts both its own constitution and the federal constitution itself, but also fails to adequately protect our constitutional rights to privacy, due process, and government transparency from federal overreach and instead simply pays lip service to these problems. Finally Olympia has done a remarkable job at artificially constraining economic growth with endless tax increases, artificial constraints on the energy supply, and countless redundant and outdated regulatory barriers.

While I have a clear vision on how to restore freedom and economic vitality to this state, I would also like to hear from you about what you think the most pressing issues are. I firmly believe in soliciting feedback and listening intently to adapt my approach to meet the needs of the district. In consideration of this I prepared a policy survey so that each constituent can provide direct feedback on my policy ideas. Please take a look at the policy survey by clicking the link below.
